Missed the L-Bonia conference.  Looks like it was good.  Apologies and hope to make it there next year.  http://www.billbuchan.com/newweb.nsf

Work free for the next 2 weeks (I hope!!). I have just returned from a Domino / AD integration project in lovely Scotland and am about to "kick back and widdle some".

Plenty of books and a short break away.  I may have a few posts to put up while I am off, but I have been threatened by numerous people that know me to "stay away"....

Note to self... post under a pseudonym..  Learn from raddycatti....

Just finishing up on a major upgrade project for a client.  As I begin my holidays on Friday, the final touches and decomissioning of the now unecessary servers will wait until I get back.  In short, all servers have been upgraded to 652, over 1.3TB of databases upgraded  and every useful ND6 feature has been implemented.  All data is now clustered, with the consolidation of numerous servers.  All of it went well, and with few hickups.  The staff on the site were forward thinking with a great work ethic.  All that is left is the citrix client upgrade from 6.02 to 6.52 which happens in two weeks.  After that, the Sametime server that is asleep in the corner is in for a shock!  In short, it was one of those rare projects that I enjoyed from start to finish (anyone that knows me will know I am grumpy at the best of times, so I don't make statements like that often!).

A question to the floor, though.  My Sametime server is configured to use LDAP, as this is the way it should be done.  The downside to this is that the IM awareness in the client and hierarchial logon in 6.5 doesn't work without schema modification.  I could use the Domino directory authentication and all will be well "out of the box" but we have to consider ldap in the future workplace.  Has anybody rolled out already with the LDAP configuration, and if so, what method did they use to enable the awareness functionality.

XDA IV

Just a circling rumour at present, but apparently O2 are skipping the HTC XDA3 and going straight to the XDAIV model (with superior battery life and camera facilities). Just to confuse us, it will be called the XDA3 anyway. Has anyone else heard this? Click here for details

A Notes based website

Just a request for feedback by developers/admins. Our company just developed and brought this website live. We would appreciate any comments that are put forward.

The last ones took a while to go, so I would imagine the majority of people that want one have one by now (until its in the public domain).  But since I'm such a nice guy, anyone that wants one leave a posting or drop me a line.  I will send an invite to their other email address.

35 years ago today, ARPNET went live the internet "of sorts" was born.  This is definately a debateable topic but the day should be noted none-the-less.  Since my birthday shares this day, I picked up this piece of trivia many moons ago.  Ok, who will be first to mail me that I am wrong and ARPNET is not the father of internet, more like a sibling.....  I await to be flamed.
