Spending a lot of the break eating and
drinking way too much, and most of my "sober" time spent working
on Lotusphere stuff. Wishing you all the best of everything for 2007.
Will have to put together a list of New Year resolutions before the
day is up, just so I can ignore them for the next 12 months or so.
P.
Thanks to Dave Hay (IBM) for the email.

[17:58:58] Paul Mooney says: Just a

welcome to stay with me… just wondering if that is what you have planned
or would you rather a hotel for the privacy
[17:59:45] duffbert says: It’ll be just

that will take this year’s vacation time.

On a break over here until next Tuesday – you can get me on my mobile, but I am going to try to stay mail “free”.
From looking at Google Analytics information
on my site, I notice that one of the most common hits I get (over 15%)
is searches on "sat nav in Ireland". It seems my site is
high on Google for this. A long time ago, I started to play with
this software/hardware using my XDA, and had terrible results. For
information on that, read
this link. Now, Navteq
have given the solid "up
yours" to the Ordinance
Survey department of Ireland and
gone and mapped the country itself. They, in turn issue their maps
to third party products (for example, Tom-Tom).
Again, I have received many emails asking
me to recommend a product for Ireland. My answer would be to ensure
they have the latest Navteq maps in them, and then test it for yourself,
by entering in your address and seeing if the product knows where you live
(before… they didn’t… trust me). So, my personal experience with
Sat Nav in Ireland has been very poor. But, I am open to re-review
the products now the new maps are available. I hope to do this in
the New Year, and possibly compare a few different products for usage in
Ireland.
