iPhoto – is it just me that it doesn't like?
It must be, because everyone I know
loves it, but iPhoto just does not seem to like me. I have upgraded
to iPhoto08 and again, I lost all my pictures. Not to mention that
iPhoto has crashed on me quite a few times.
I have totally uninstalled iPhoto and
the library now. Will reinstall and add the photos again, but this
is baffling. I’m sure I have hardly any photos compared to the likes
of Volker or Warren or Matt. I dunno…..

Are you letting Buchan play with your macbook? Maybe it’s your DMB girlie….

I can only agree with Stuart. I have never had iPhoto issues in the 5 years I have used a Mac.
Even afte upgrading software, all remains as it should.
Maybe you are right and iPhoto does hate you.

Post the output from System Profiler, and if you can dig it up, the log files from the install somewhere (email it if you prefer).

This won’t make you feel any better Paul, but I can honestly say in 5 years or so of using iPhoto, I havent seen any of the issues you seem to be hitting…
The biggest issue is giving the control of your photos over to iPhoto, rather than the Windows model of micro-managing your files. Now of course that is even harder if you have been let down as you have!
Something that is worth investing in is a really good backup util that manages iLife content – I recommend BackityMac { Link }
