On screen keyboard for Windows
I have been asked by a few people about
tools I used while presenting at Lotusphere. Well, obviously I use
my Mac, but had many VM’s of different types depending on the presentation.
But, when using a Mac, certain keystrokes (e.g. CTRL, SHIFT, ALT)
can sometimes be tricky. So, use the On Screen Keyboard. I
found it a few years ago, but Bill reminded me of it in a post of his recently.
Click on Start, Run and type in OSK.
And there you go….
Invaluable for demos.

Now I just need to know the keyboard shortcuts for the on screen keyboard. :)

I’m having a lot of bother executing CTRL-Break though, the only key combination I really need – it seems to be very hit and miss.

Excellent, it would be very difficult to get crisps, fluff and small particles of Jaffa Cake stuck between the keys.

I find this OSK incredibly useful as well to ctrl-break Notes clients on PCs controlled over those funny remote screen tools that like to “swallow” the ctrl commands on the way.

@Ben: I think I know what you mean and the problem is with focus – when you switch to OSK you tend to lose the window focus on Notes – so just click on the Notes tab again BEFORE you click the ctrl and the break key on the OSK – does it for me.
@Ben: I think I know what you mean and the problem is with focus – when you switch to OSK you tend to lose the window focus on Notes – so just click on the Notes tab again BEFORE you click the ctrl and the break key on the OSK – hope it makes sense but that does it for me
