Speaker sessions

Just for the record, we have not published
the agenda for ILUG2008, simply because of all the sessions we are trying
to get through.  For the record, if you have not submitted by now
for speaking at ILUG, don’t bother.  But, as of this evening, we are
now at a 3 day, 4 track event, with some of the best sessions you will
see.  This, is of course, if Eileen and I manage not to kill each
other.  Now, to answer some questions before

I kill fluffy….

  • Yes you need to register – doesn’t matter
who you are (even we did)

  • There are still slots available, but
we passed the 300 mark, so its going really well

  • DONT REGISTER UNLESS YOU PLAN ON ATTENDING
  • Hotel recommendations and location information
will go on the site this week

  • Logistical details will go on the site
  • We run this in our own time – so please
    be patient.

ILUG 2008 Registration opens tomorrow

At 1pm tomorrow, the register link will
go live on ILUG’s website.  Be sure to register if you want to go.
Just for those that are sponsoring/speaking….

If you plan on speaking at this, you
MUST register

If you plan on sponsoring this, you
MUST register

Even the organisers, MUST register

We also have a very strict "dont
take the piss" approach.  There is a limit on how many per company
can register for the event.  Also, if you registered for last years,
but did not turn up, you WILL be waitlisted for this year’s event (you
were warned…lots of times).  It will be interesting to see how many
registered people we will have by tomorrow evening.  Anyone want to
hazard a guess?

New Revision of the Get Error solution

We are up to release 152 on the Get
Errors solution, which will allow you to customise any Notes client error!.
Now Bill, Jullian and I have added in more functionality and an easy
to use interface.  We have made the database a one-stop-shop for displaying
the errors, with an integrated link to the desktop settings you already
have.

From the database, you can customise
and push down errors to the policy and therefore to the clients.

You can also see the text of the original
error, and what you have replaced it with.

You can remove errors from policies
or change them.

Go have a look
on the resources page.

Worst Practices Video

The Lotusphere DVD’s turned up yesterday, and as usual, I watch them once. To see what the presentations went like. It is a strange process, watching yourself on stage. Most of the time I spend it grimacing and wanting to kick myself. This year, I thought I presented a bit better then before (not so many “em’s” or “so’s”) but still a lot of room for improvement. Especially when you watch some of the other guys in action.

One part that made me laugh in a big way was watching Tom Duff rip Bill and I apart at the end of the Worst Practices session, by letting some people know how we organise ILUG. For people that think we were faking embarrassment, we weren’t.
