An open message to the prick in Starbucks

First of all, move along.. nothing to see
here if you are looking for technical or business related content.

Picture it… Starbucks, Manila, 2009.

Nicest Starbucks staff I have ever come
across.  Smiles and happy to see you. Every.time.  Now picture
person ahead of me in queue.  Lets call him "Prick".  Prick
is on his mobile phone and talking loudly to someone.  Girl asks for
his order.  He half-answers and continues to talk to the other prick
down the end of the phone (Apology to other prick.  You may not be
a prick.  But, you are obviously related to this prick so I grant
you prick status by default).  She repeats the order back to him.
Prick then changes his mind.  She puts it through on the till
and repeats it back to him again.  But, she got confused with his
lame-ass half-focussed re-order and when re-reading it to him, it is incorrect.
He then shouts "Oh COME ON.. Its SIMPLE!" and repeats his
order.  She smiles gently and asks him if it is to go or eat in.  He
doesn’t even answer and throws money on the counter, still talking in a
prickish manner to his prick-mate on his prick cellphone.

I’m next, ask the girl if she is ok
and would she like to get her boss to report this prick.  She smiles
and repeats "its ok, its ok".  Then apologises to me for
the inconvenience.   Prick returns, still on his phone, grabs his
order, change and leaves.  I leave a $10 tip.  She is not paid
enough to deal with that.  My thoughts.

1. – What goes around comes around.
It usually picks up speed on the way.  I would love to be there
to see it when it catches up on certain people.

2. – Manners cost nothing.  Zip.
I’m not saying you should always be polite, as its not always appropriate,
but it costs fuck all to say please and thank you.

3. – These people are on shite money.
Getting abuse is not on their job description.  Especially if
their service is stellar.

    Paul,

Well done sir. Raging thinking about it – some folks attitudes are shocking. You have done well to not punch his head in.

You are right in that some day it will come back to haunt him.

I bet Paul ,that is was hard for you NOt to ssy anythink – here is a Story / joke that i like alot -

At one of the packed, Delta ticket counters all of ticket agents were doing their best to politely process each passenger as quickly as they could.

A man toward the end of the snaking line of passengers was obviously impatient and very frustrated at having to wait so long in the slow moving line.

He finally decided to march right up to the counter pulling his wheeled suitcase and demanded that he be given his boarding pass. The ticket agent turned, looked at him, blinked, took a shallow, deep breath and said, “Sir, as you can see there are many passengers ahead of you. We are doing our best to process the passengers as fast as we can. Im afraid youll have to get back in line”.

Outraged and red in the face, the man yelled at the ticket agent saying, “Do you know who I am ???!!!.” The ticket agent turned, looked at him, blinked, took another shallow, deep breath, picked up the publi c address system microphone and said calmly, “There is a man at the Delta ticket counter who does not know who he is. Anyone who may be able to identify this man is asked to please step forward and identify him.

Man look at her his face all red and said ” F..ck you , The ticket agent said calmly ” your are going to have to wait in line for that too Sir”.

    “Manners cost nothing”

It’s such a fundamental truth, that it should be on T-shirts!

Same goes for compliments by the way. Give them – take them – world is a better place!
