SANs don’t crash?

From my twitter inbox today

I’m not saying SANs are a bad idea.  Just don’t believe the hype.

Or as Elmer Fudd would say “When a SAN is bad, it is whery whery BAD!”

Want to talk about SANs going down???? try this one! http://www.dominopower.com/issues/issue200610/00001849001.html
Maybe it will make you feel better about only 11 servers down ;-)

Say it ain’t so, Joe? The SAN is down? How can this be? SANs don’t go down. When SANs go down, see the previous statement. SANs are the Chuck Norris of technology. If they do go down, it’s only to lull you into a false sense of insecurity.

At a large customer in the Netherlands also a SAN went down, not only taking half of all BES servers down, but they also turned out to be unrecoverable…
