Second time in a week

You have 2 choices.

  1. Start a new backup, which means wait while the old backups are purged from the NAS, then wait while the 400GB of data is backed up over the LAN to my ReadyNAS
  2. “Back up later”.  Ignore the problem and hope it fixes itself over the next day.  And while you wait, you have no backup

Thank you apple, for the choices.  Grumble grumble.

I gave up on time machine about a year ago after the first time I waned to restore a file it wouldn’t allow me to. No second chances for failures when it comes to backups. Instead now I have gone back to a combination of multiple Super Duper backups locally and Amazon S3 backups in the cloud using jungle disk. Works well for me.

I use Time Machine, CrashPlan and SuperDuper. Never can have enough backups of priceless data :-)
