The IBM Collab Services Technical Tweetup
Try saying that with a few pints in you :).
Consider this a social experiment. Over the past few weeks, we have noticed a number of tweetups. These are all well and good and some of them even promoted products. So it got me thinking, which got me talking to members of the community, which lead to Teamstudio coming up with an idea.
How about a technical tweetup? Like other tweetups, but .. em.. with content. So I harassed Gab, Duffbert, Matt White and many others to put together a list of skilled experts (and me) to engage in the first IBM Collaboration Services Technical Tweetup challenge. (#icstt ?).
At 6pm (BST) on the 18th July, the following list of geeks will be available to answer any correctly hastagged questions on twitter. We will do this for 2 hours. For free. There will be some rules on the day, which I will blog at the time. But basically ask any question you like, we will try to answer. At the moment, we have the following people signed up to help answer questions (links are to their twitter feeds).
Paul Mooney (Traveler, Traveler HA, Ethical Hacking, Domino, IBM Connections, Mobile application deployment)
Gab Davis (Traveler, Traveler HA, Domino, IBM Connections, IBM Sametime)
Tom Duff (Domino Development, Sharepoint Integration)
Kerr Rainey (Domino Development, xPages development)
Matt White (Domino Development, xPages development, mobile development)
Tim Davis (Domino Development, xPages development, mobile development)
Steve McDonagh (Domino on iSeries, Domino development)
Marie Scott (Sametime, TDI, Domino Admin)
Like with User Groups, these guys are giving their time for free. So Teamstudio agreed to sponsor by donating to MacMillan Cancer Support on our behalf. On the evening, I will put up a page on my site with a Donate button. If someone answers a question for you, maybe you will donate too?
Please spread the word. Giving 2 weeks (or so) notice. For over 10 years this community has given technical content online that easily outpaces every other community I know. This is an experiment to see if a new way works. Also, if you are interested in donating your time as a “question answererererer” just chuck a comment on this post and I will add you to the skype moderator chat.
Update: More details here.

Paul. wonderful idea. please feel free to include me as an answererererer as well. I can also encourage the PSC crew (Kathy, Troy, Mark, etc.) if that would help.
One question on the method. Is this a tweetchat? there is tweetchat software out there, with a hashtag, that works more like a threaded chat client than twitter. just can’t tell if that is what your doing here.

A great idea that I hope people take advantage of. Thanks to Teamstudio for sponsoring the effort, let’s hope we get lots of good questions and manage to cram answers into 140 chars. It’s going to be a challenge and hopefully fun.
