The Apple iWatch

The iWatch will fill a gaping hole in the Apple ecosystem. It will facilitate and coordinate not only the activities of all the other computers and devices we use, but a wide array of devices to come. Like other breakthrough Apple products, it’s value will be underestimated at launch, then grow to have a profound impact on our lives and Apple’s fortunes.

I have a Pebble on pre-order.  If Apple creates a watch with the functionality listed in this article, I will buy it.  Excellent article.  Worth a read.

Did you kick start your Pebble or pre-order? Just curious when you are getting yours. I should be getting mine within a week or so.

Interesting. I love the KidCode idea. I would buy that watch in a heartbeat. I haven’t ordered a Pebble (yet?). It looks too big (I have tiny wrists) and has an ugly band, though the functionality is interesting. Once I see on in person, I may change my mind.

I don’t see Apple entering the watch market, it’s a shrinking market, less and less people are wearing watches because of their phones. I haven’t worn a watch in about 10 years, and we all know how much I set the fashion ;-)

Carl when it comes to action cams, you are the trendsetter. There are few people that would “know” what Apple are going to do. Lots of rumours with little substance. But Apple reinvented the phone market, created the tablet market. What if they reinvented the watch market by adding useful functions?

Aside from that, the market has slamed Apple for not “inventing” anything recently. A watch could be Tim Cook’s new baby. No crystal balls here, just thinking out loud.

I happened to read that via Twitter and then as your post. I think a watch that is simple to use and breaks the borders of a style accessory and into functionality could work. It’s the do piton process and simplicity that will matter. While Appple could do it I bet scene like Pebble will launch it first.

Apple will copy, simplify, improve and carry it to the front. Much like what happened to Sony and the Walkman
