A weekend with the Elsmores

QuickImage Category

For Easter, Warren and Kitty invited myself to spend a few days with them at Kitty's family home in Scotland.  After the great time we had on Patrick's weekend over here, I was delighted to go.  So, after a taxi, a plane, another taxi and two trains, I was collected in Perth on Saturday afternoon.  First things first, Kitty's home is stunning and her mum is very proud of it, and the surrounding landscape (and rightly so).  I find it hard to believe that in a country that has so much shallow coastline (like ours), local government wants to drop a few wind farms in areas as beautiful as this.  In this shot, Kitty's home is a good distance away (photo taken from their grounds).

We have this running "battle" between us now.  Every time we meet, we exchange the worst tourist gifts from each other's home city.  As you can see, this time I won hands down.

On the Sunday, they had a small "post wedding thank you" lunch for 100 or so people in their house, followed by dinner nearby for 20 of us.    From Kitty's mum, aunt, cousins and her brother, followed by friends and family, I met a great bunch of welcoming people.  Special mention must go to Roger, who's pet pug just wanted to lick heads all day (I think I will let Kitty and Warren explain that one).  Also Alison "cute chick" Thompson for being funny, witty and (as we all agreed at the end of the evening) just really cute.   I can bring away many unusual memories from that weekend (including some sightings of a monkey that Susan may know), not least of which is without a doubt the worst played game of snooker ever.  But I suppose 12 hours of drinking does affect the 'oul hand-eye coordination.
Thank you guys.  I had a fantastic time.
