ILUG2007 on tour in Peru

Eileen sporting a very fashionable (yet geeky) hat in Peru on her sponsored hike. She is home safe and sound, with many photos and surprisingly full of energy. There are rumors of a bigger, more difficult hike for charity next year on a different continent. Of course, we may need help raising money for her. Hmm…. I wonder what event we could arrange that may persuade people to donate money again next year!
Well done Eileen.

Eileen is gone on her hike

Guys, if you get a second, be sure to
read
this
post
and leave Eileen a well deserved
message of good wishes.  After so many of you contributed after the
ILUG event, Eileen has reached her charity goal and is now hiking in Peru.

The ILUG event evaluation email has gone out

A bit later then expected (we needed
sleep), but an email to all delegates that attended has gone out, with
a link to the evaluation form.  Please take a second to fill it out.
Also, if you look through the email, you will see some special offers
and extra information from the sponsors.  Be sure to take a look.

And the holiday is won

The holiday auction ended at €200
for the
trip
to Malta
.  Winner wishes
to remain anonymous.  It will be donated to
Eileen’s
Charity site
today marked "Trip
for Malta".  On a side note, the personal interaction from
Integra
for Notes
should not be ignored
here.  These guys saw this as a
good
cause.
 Nothing else.  My
deepest thanks to them for reminding me that there are good businesses
in the world these days.

So, if you attended ILUG, and have 10
quid to spare, why not put it to a good cause.  Donate.

ILUG Session evaluations are out

The overall event evaluation is going
out to everyone to fill in soon.  But, Kitty has done an excellent
job correlating the session evaluations.  All speakers will get session-specific
details shortly, but here is the summary for them all.  As you can
see, there were no poor sessions.  All were rated very highly.

NB – These are mean calculations
on evals based on each session.  With some of the sessions, the  volume
of evaluations submitted varied.

OK – who wants a holiday to Malta?

A picture named M2

Many of the people that attended ILUG2007
will remember that Eileen
and I (ok, well me) had a small
agenda at the end of the event; to make
Eileen’s
charity
known and to ask you to
contribute.  So far, many of you have already and we are almost half
way there on her 5000EURO required to sponsor her hike in Peru.  Well,
as promised, I was going to ask people to contribute a small amount in
return for the event.  Of course, we were not aware of the surprise
you already had in store for us, so you get our deepest thanks for the
gifts.

But still, if you can contribute a small
amount, it would be excellent (even 10EURO).
Click
here and follow the instructions
.
It takes under 2 minutes to make a safe secure donation.   Now, if
you fancy a two night holiday in the
Hilton
hotel in Malta
, including flights,
you should read on….

I won the holiday draw at ILUG which
was generously sponsored by

Integra for Notes
.  It felt
wrong for me to keep it (as I helped in organising the event),  but
Bill
had a quickfire suggestion.. "Auction
it" he whispered.  So, that became the plan.
Integra
for Notes
have been fantastic
(
and
even setup a link on their site!
)
and very helpful in this, so now the auction begins.  If you want
to bid for this holiday,
click
on this link
and email me with
your pledge.  I will update this page with the current winner and
amount.  The auction ends on Monday 11th June.  I am STARTING
the bidding at 100EURO.  Its worth a lot more then this though.

Conditions for the holiday are on the
Integra
auction page
.

Update:  Current highest
bid is 200EURO (Anonymous bidder)
