Finally, it came down to a decision between the Panasonic Lumix or a Canon Ixus 750.  I went with the canon as there are no good Panasonic support companies in Ireland.  If anything went wrong with the Lumix, it could take weeks to get it repaired.  The ixus is very small, with a large LCD screen but still feels a good weight and gives the impression that its quite sturdy.   Tie that in with a massive amount of features, most of which I know I will never use, but some look handy.   I hope to get some good practice with it next week at Lotusphere and also plan to head to Cape Canaveral on  the 27th Jan.  If anyone is interested in coming along that day, just drop me a line.  Unfortunately, we will be missing a rocket launch by a few days, which would have been amazing.

Gravatar Image1 - Paul, while not looking to dampen your time in Florida, you could always hope for some bad weather (say for 3 or 4 days, nothing too serious though ) and they might, just might, delay the launch. Especially for you, even.... Don't mind Ed, I like the IXUS - neat and pocket-sized, great features.
