What makes a grown consultant cry

Category

... About to backup approximately 40 hours of Lotusphere prep work (including VMware images, documents and rough presentations) to your terastation, and the external drive stopping to read all data....only resolved by formatting it, and losing everything.

Yeah...... that just about does it

1 - oooooooooooohhh, I'm SO sorry.
The same thing happened to me, was it a Maxtor brand external? After reformatting, I was able to get everything back - Go download a trial of a program called "GetDataBackforFAT" (or GetDataBackforNTFS depending on what the file system was).

The software is amazing, I own both of them. Best of all, you don't buy it unless the software shows you your data can be recovered.

PLEASE try it, you may have lost nothing.

2 - Seal it up and put it in the freezer for a few hours.

You'd be surprised how well that works.

3 - Give it a try anyway... you can use the software to recover data even when the disk can't be recognized by Windows.

The trial version is free until you figure out if you CAN actually recover data, so you don't have anything to lose.

4 - Jess, you are a dear, but I'm afraid the disk has shuffled its mortal coil... and won't even start now. Declan suggested the "one inch drop" test. I am more at the "f**k it against the wall test" phase!.
Ah sure... could be worse.....

5 - Och , now that hurts ..Emoticon

6 - Man that sucks. Sorry to hear about this Paul Emoticon

And as for Nathan...he is a lot smarter than he looks or types.

8 - Why isn't there a wikipedia article about you?

9 - Aww sweetheart. Huge consolatory hugs.Emoticon
