Integration of Sametime Quickr and Domino

Category

First session of the day, and Jerald Mahurin is going through integration of Sametime awareness in the other products (something that has been breaking my heart over the past few weeks).  I plan on putting together a pdf "step by step" on this next week, but the points made are good.

Assumption - LDAP directory being shared by Quickr and Sametime.
If you are trying to get QUickr awareness working with Sametime 7.5 (not 7.5.1) it does not work yet.  A CF is to be relased to fix it.  The chat functionality between Quickr and ST751 does NOT work either.. until a CF comes out.  Stay tuned as I will post it as soon as it is released.

Assumption - you are using SSO and have shared tokens between Quickr Sametime and anything else (all that works on)

Quickr Server...
Add NoWebFilesSystemACLs=1 to the notes.ini
Specify the Sametime community server in the Quickr settings
Create and use domcfg.nsf

Sametime Server
Download the Sametime Java toolkit
Create sub directories on the Sametime server
\Domino\html\QuickPlace\peopleonline
Copy STCComm.jar, CommRes.jar (from the toolkit) and PeopleOnline31.jar (from the quickr server) there  (Note:be careful of case)

Quickr Server
Configure the IM enablement in the Quickr settings
Configure the IM enablement in each place (customise settings)
Configure qpconfig.xml

Online Meetings:
In order to use meeting creations in Quickr/Sametime, you need to:
Create a user account in the directory
Give account Manager rights to stconfig.nsf with sametimeadmin role
Specify the user in qpconfig.xml file
Copy the following files from Sametime to the /Domino directory on the sametime server...STMtgManagement.jar, STCore.jar, ServerLocator.properties, sametime.ini

Comments

1 - Looks like that PDF will be most welcome!

Rhetorical question, but shouldn't this all be much easier!?

It sounds more like hacking it together than "integration"!

I can understand having prerequisites, such as LDAP in place, Sametime installed prior to Quickr, etc. But this should be part of the install.
"Do you want to integrate with Sametime? Y/N", if yes, "Please enter the FQHN of your Sametime server" or something along those lines as part of the install.

2 - Is qpconfig.xml needed for awareness or just meetings? We've done everything by the book (even checked again per this blog post) and we can only get awareness functioning for 30 seconds.
