LCTY Manchester

Category

The event in Manchester was well presented and well attended, with approximately 250 attendees.  Once again, I was presenting with Darren Adams on ND8 and met plenty of interesting people.  It was good to meet other partners aswell, and some product vendors (hence the last post).  In fairness to IBM, LCTY this year really did very well, with many people commenting on the class of the event.  A few points:
  • People really liked the DWA lite template
  • People love traveler!  Even though it is a relatively "no big deal" release, it is being very well received
  • Widgets were loved, but more for the cool factor - applications and business reasons may follow
  • Everyone loves the Macs.  Apple should sponsor BE Systems.
  • I will be doing a lot more work on citrix soon - plenty of people requesting our services on that front
  • Our blackberry applications using the MDS studio that we were demoing were loved
  • DAOS, ID credential store and all the other 8.5 features en route were well received
  • Warren is not a booth babe.  Come to think it, neither am I.

All in all, a great (but very bloody long) week!  I have a light case of "Lotusphere foot" and aside from some ILUG stuff, am taking the weekend off!

1 - Hi Paul,

It is nice to see everyone behaving this week. Look forward to seeing everyone at ILUG and I promise I will start posting on Sean's blog giving an "outsider's" opinion! LOL!

Take Care and see you in June!

2 - Warren most certainly is a booth babe. And so are you. The problem is simply that there are not enough geeky women around at these conferences to appreciate how sexy you-all sound when you say things like "DAOS" and "I can lock up your identity in an ID vault and throw away the key..."Emoticon

3 - @MaryBeth... you forgot "rooter" and "tree"...
