My Blackberry Server Administration presentation

Category
Is also available for download on my resources page.  I must point out that RIM impressed me *a lot* in relation to this.  I was asked with very little time to put together a rough best practices guide to BES admin, in return for a Blackberry Storm.  I agreed on condition that I would be totally honest about what I liked and disliked about the BES server platform.  Not only where they ok with that, they encouraged it and told the audience that I have been told to be totally impartial.
So, natrually I started about the impending 5.0 server, with an expected release date of 2045.  Followed by my impressions of the Storm!  The delegates appreciated the honesty and also what was obviously my respect for such a powerful platform and device.  If only every vendor encouraged such honesty.

Comments

1 - I have never owned a blackberry and generally take a dislike to any device or platform that is not obviously intuitive.

I tried a storm in a vodafone store and couldn't understand why when to press an application it just wouldn't open. Oh I press another button and then choose 'open application' to open it. Right....

I actually looked for one of those awful scroll wheels.

Mine's an iPhone. Any day. Sorry.

2 - I really enjoyed this session a lot and really appreciated your honesty and the honesty from rim as well. Thanks for the great sessions!

3 - Barry, with the exception of the Storm, the blackberry is very intuitave. It managed to filter its way to every level in every business. Not possible without being easy to use.
